Born to a noble family of French orign. After the premature death of his father during 1814, he is enrolled at college under the guidance of his grand-father the following year for a career within the legal profession.[8]
Prisse decided on the vocation of archaeologist in 1836 after the end of an employment as teacher at the Damiette-fortification infantry school.[9]
